At GSD Verpackungen Gerhard Schürholz GmbH, we are committed to stand side-by-side with our customers in taking responsibility for end users and in developing the best possible production conditions. Established in 1877, we can tap into decades of experience so as to guarantee that our flexible paper packaging products are of the best quality. In order to produce safe, flawless packaging, particularly for the food industry, and to comply with legal requirements, our quality assurance system is based on a number of pillars:
1) Recommendations issued by the Federal Association Bundesverband der Lebensmittelkontrolleure
Every year we undergo an examination by the association and the resulting recommendation letter is evidence of our ongoing commitment. It demonstrates that we are able to produce hygienic primary and secondary packaging suitable for coming into contact with food. Furthermore we only use food safe paper, ink and adhesives.
2) Auditing according SMETA 4 Pillar (SEDEX)
In order to ensure compliance with social, ethical and environmental requirements, both at national and international laws, we are under the SMETA-4-Pillar requirements (SEDEX) successfully audited.
3) Information about the current legal provisions based on IPV membership
To make sure we are constantly informed about the changing legal requirements in our industry, we joined the IPV association many years ago. IPV was established in 1949 and is headquartered at Frankfurt, Germany. The topical information service addressing „flexible paper and foil packaging“ issues is of major importance to us.
4) Responsible selection of raw materials
We only use raw materials which we know to be of safe quality, where we have certainty of their origin and which are suitable for direct or indirect food contact. This is demonstrated on an ongoing basis by our suppliers, who provide up-to-date certification.
